Oriental Herbs

herbsHerbs will be prescribed based on our diagnosis, and are used to help your body regain natural balance. These herbs work gently in your body to stimulate the body’s natural healing mechanism.

I look at your tongue and take your pulse, and palpate some acupuncture points in the body to determine our diagnosis.

This information is important for oriental medicine practitioners to understand the quality of the blood, energy, circulation, connection of the nervous system, and presence of toxins, and water retention in the body.

The tongue tells the temperature of the body, any stagnation, fluid retention, depletion, circulation issues, and emotional state. It tells us if you sleep well, or if you are anxious, have digestive issues, and so on.

We select herbs carefully to suite your body’s condition, and balance issues you might have.

Herbs have many potent functions. Here are a few of the many functions:

1) Herbs can boost your energy.

Herbs strengthen the body’s natural vitalities and blood. When we are depleted, we may feel depressed, and anxious, or fatigued. These herbs can boost your energy to help you sleep better, feel energized, and help you with brain functions. It may keep you from an energy crash in the afternoon.

If you are drinking many cups of coffee to start your day, you may notice an energy crash after a few hours. The caffeine can dehydrate you and deplete your energy in the long run. Taking herbs can gradually build your strength by improving the quality of your blood.

2) Herbs detoxify your body.

When the body’s cleansing function is weak, the body’s detoxification function becomes sluggish, and the body accumulates unwanted waste products. These waste products attach themselves to the fat and cause unnecessary layers in your body.

It is caused by stress and alcohol or any chemicals in our environment overtaxing our Liver. The liver’s detoxing abilities start to decline and the liver is unable to process all the fats, unwanted chemicals in our food (junk food, highly processed food). Waste products cause our fluid in our body to become murky and sluggish. The flow of the fluid and blood become sluggish.

As a result the body is unable to eliminate this fluid effectively, and it becomes oxidized, and it stays in our body as a toxins. If these toxins in our body are left untreated, they can become hard, take more fluid, and cause water weight in your body, and may also cause many serious illnesses.

Those are cysts, polyps, tumors, and arteriosclerosis. The natural herbs can strengthen the Liver, and eliminate the toxins, and increase your metabolism. It helps reduce water retention in your body, and eliminate extra layers in your body.

3) Herbs increase your immune system to fight off infections.

Many herbs can actively kill bacteria and viruses in our body. It also increase Natural Killer Cells(NK cells), and fight infections.

Many patients say that they don’t catch colds as much as before, when they are taking herbs. Herbs can do much more than alleviating targeted symptoms. Many patients say that their bowl movement is better, and they feel more relaxed and energetic.

4) Herbs clear inflammation and ease pain.

Inflammation in the body can lead to many serious illnesses. A typical example of inflammation-caused illnesses are inflammatory bowel disease, eczema, and rheumatoid arthritis.

Symptoms related to chronic inflammation are congestions, stiffness, chronic aches and pains, frequent infections, and even depression and mood swings.

These herbs can gently work in your body to increase natural healing abilities. There are many more effects of herbs, and conditions herbs can treat.

5) Herbs elevate your mood and help you gain natural emotional balance.

It can increase serotonin and dopamine. Those are important neurotransmitters that help us feel motivated and happy, and handle stress in our lives without overreacting or becoming too anxious or nervous. It gives us a positive outlook in our lives.
